International Projects

Malawi Children’s Village (MCV)

The Malawi Children’s Village has recently become one of our club’s main international projects. We are undertaking a variety of projects with a specific focus on water and irrigation. Dave Markel is a member of the Seneca Falls Rotary Club and he has been traveling to Malawi on an annual basis. Dave’s stories, photos, and commitment to this project remind us of the importance of providing service internationally. To learn more about our efforts in Malawi, please visit our MCV page.

Shelter Box

Shelter Box responds instantly to natural and manmade disasters by delivering boxes of aid to those who are most in need. Each box supplies an extended family of up to 10 people with a tent and essential equipment to use while they are displaced or homeless.

Polio Plus

After 20 years of hard work, Rotary and its partners are on the brink of eradicating this tenacious disease, but a strong push is needed now to root it out once and for all. It is a window of opportunity of historic proportions.

Rotary’s goql is to raise $200 million to match $355 million in challenge grants received from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The resulting $555 million will directly support immunization campaigns in developing countries, where polio continues to infect and paralyze children, robbing them of their futures and compounding the hardships faced by their families.

As long as polio threatens even one child anywhere in the world, children everywhere remain at risk. The stakes are that high.

If we all have the fortitude to see this effort through to the end, then we will eradicate polio." — Bill Gates
